It seems like this year would have been a good growing year - hot and wet - but we've been feeling like we are missing some things this year in our CSA boxes. Very very (very) few tomatoes, not many herbs, and no beans! It is interesting to see how things change from year to year!

No beans here either, and hardly any tomatoes. Usually they offer large boxes at a big discount for canning and freezing, but not this year! I've been a member for 8 years this summer and this is the first time that's ever happened!
Definitely a weird growing season. The veg in my yard are going pretty steady. And I've had a bUMPER crop of habaneros, of all things. But, tomatoes were definitely slow.
It's interesting to hear that your CSA box was short on herbs this year. My herbs are growing like wild things this year! Next time you stop down in Milwaukee, you can pick your fill :)
